The challenge
Extending an operating water network requires more than new pipelines. The Abha Phase 2 extension integrates multiple tie-ins and tap-offs, new storage, emergency reverse-flow connections and provisions for future network growth.
Our contribution
Pipelab provides complete final design, with civil and electrical lots subcontracted. The scope includes a 25.1 km gravity transmission pipeline, two 30,000 m³ steel storage tanks at Military City and connections to existing reservoirs and supply corridors.
Engineering outcome
The design supports greater storage capacity, operational flexibility and future interconnection. Emergency connections and bypass arrangements provide additional options for managing regional water supply.
